Icosahedrophilia Podcast, Episode 38: Microcosm, Part 2
The Icosahedrophilia team proudly presents “Microcosm,” our adventure recorded on January 17, 2009. Episode 38 presents the second of six installments in this adventure. Will the PCs end up as rat food? To find out, please listen now or subscribe via iTunes. This episode features the following segments:
- The Staging Area: I recap “Microcosm, Part 1,” in which the PCs begin to defend themselves against a carrion crawler and its dire rat/rat swarm hangers-on, all of which have been attracted by the cultists’ corpses.
- The Weather Report: The PCs fight off the scavengers and return to Perbendarahaan for a visit to Mr. Leng’s Library.
The Prop Shop: I explain why I used the Ghostly Minstrel map from SkeletonKey Games‘s line of Ptolus-related battlemaps to represent Mr. Leng’s Library, instead of using the Black Library map from Fantastic Locations: The Frostfell Rift. Then I offer a brief review of Dungeon Master’s Guide 2, chapter 2. You can also get more special release-week converage of DMG2 from the Tome Show, Fist Full of Comics and Games, Critical Hits, Dungeon Mastering, Geek Dad, the Chatty DM, and At-Will.
Here’s the marathon countdown, for those of you keeping score at home:
- Microcosm (4 episodes to go)
- The Doom of Sarnath (6 episodes)
- City of the Pirate Kings (4–5 episodes)
- Clash of the Pirate Kings (6–7 episodes)
- Escape from the Pirate Kings (4–5 episodes)
- The Sands of Time (4–5 episodes)
I doubt that I’ll get all of the backlogged episodes released before our next gaming session on September 26, but I’ll do my very best to keep closing the gap quickly. I hope that you enjoy(ed) listening to “Microcosm, Part 2,” and that you’ll return for “Microcosm, Part 3,” coming very soon!
