Icosahedrophilia Podcast, Episode 39: Microcosm, Part 3

Despite a little hiccup in our web service, “Microcosm, Part 3″ is now ready for your enjoyment! We played “Microcosm” on January 17, 2009, and will present the adventure in six installments. To hear part 3, please listen now or subscribe via iTunes. This episode features the following segments:

  • The Staging Area: I recap “Microcosm, Part 2,” in which our heroes make their way back to the streets of Perbendarahaan and pay a visit to Mr. Leng’s Library.
  • The Weather Report: The PCs continue to explore Mr. Leng’s Library, revealing a secret passage. The passage leads down a confusing path into a large, almost spherical cavern of strange design.
  • The Prop Shop: I explain why the players had to wait longer than they should have to get a handout representing the map of the Thousand Lands that Lithian found in Mr. Leng’s Library. Then I briefly review Dungeon Master’s Guide 2, chapter 3. You can also get more special release-week converage of DMG2 from the Tome Show, Fist Full of Comics and Games, Critical Hits, Dungeon Mastering, Geek Dad, the Chatty DM, and At-Will.

Here’s the countdown to convergence:

  • Microcosm (3 episodes to go)
  • The Doom of Sarnath (6 episodes)
  • City of the Pirate Kings (4–5 episodes)
  • Clash of the Pirate Kings (6–7 episodes)
  • Escape from the Pirate Kings (4–5 episodes)
  • The Sands of Time (4–5 episodes)

With the publication of this episode, I also transferred episode 36, “A Rite Most Foul, Part 9,” to the new server. I will continue to restore the availability of older episodes as quickly as I can without interfering with the publication of new episodes.

The changes in our podcast hosting solution may mean that I will have to slow down a little on the marathon. Even so, I’ll be posting “Microcosm, Part 4″ almost immediately after this one. Enjoy it during your weekend—and don’t forget to attend Worldwide D&D Game Day for DMG2!
